Sex Addiction

Nothing exceeds like excess.

We’re walking into the heart of a long-held discussion here.

There is controversy within the medical community as to whether or not sex addiction actually exists, or if people only experience what is called Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD).

Licensed professionals working one-on-one with people on sex-related problems report seeing in their clients very similar behaviors to the ones displayed by addicts. Psychologist Elizabeth Hartney points out how “in general, having less sexual desire and activity is seen as a greater problem than having more sexual desire and activity.” Because of this, we might be overlooking some important realities.

July 2021 we’re setting out to answer the following questions about SEX ADDICTION:

  • What exactly is sex addiction and what does it look like?

  • What are the reasons why people can become addicted to sex?

  • What role does technology play in sex addiction?

  • How does recovery look like for a sex addict?

  • How can sex addiction impact relationships?

In conjunction with this month’s topic, we invite you to set aside a few uninterrupted minutes, grab pen and paper, sit with this question and explore the places it might lead you to.
