About this Event
F*cking C*pitalism with Pierce Delahunt ⚖️
What are Capitalism and Socialism, and how do they affect sex and sexuality? What is this whole “Culture Wars” thing, and how does it play out in regard to sex? How does Sexism show up on both the Left and the Right? What counts as Left and Right? Why is giving myself permission to feel pleasure a radical act under White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy Domination Culture? What are those words I just said–oh, and who is bell hooks?
In this class, Pierce Delahunt, M.Ed. will be leading a short lesson twice each month on how Capitalism and Socialism play a role in and deeply influence our sex life, sexuality, and sexual identity.
*Please note: this facilitated discussion is open to those 16 years of age and older. Those under the age of consent must be accompanied by a legal guardian, who must be the person to ultimately purchase admission to our workshops.*

Instructor Bio
Pierce works from the frame that individualist social-emotional learning is insufficient: Our capacity to have fulfilling lives and relationships cannot come at the expense of other communities’ abilities to do the same. If our love and light movements do not address systemic oppression, they are neither of those things.
Pierce Delahunt holds an M.Ed. from the Institute for Humane Education. Their research was a study of activist-education programs throughout the country. They grew up in occupied Lenape territories of New York and New Jersey and currently live in a progressive vegan co-op in Boulder, CO with their primary.
Pierce has worked with CISV, Youth Empowered Action, SMASH Academy, and other education programs of various degrees of activism since 2010. They teach social-emotional learning, activism, social justice, and Leftist economics (or as they call it: economics). They were also the male sex columnist for their college newspaper and the news writer for SexHerald.
