What Are Polarities?
Polarities are two sides of the same coin—one doesn’t exist without the other.
You can’t know what light is if you haven’t also experienced dark. Polarities are opposites (light/dark, peace/conflict, hot/cold) and, equally important to know, they exist along a spectrum.
Why do Polarities Matter?
Interpersonal Attraction
Polarity is the ENERGY that creates magnetic, hot attraction.
Think of two magnets. When both positive ends are put together, they repel each other. The positive and negative ends are magnetically attracted to each other. Same goes for humans. Opposite energies attract.
In partnership, when people’s energies become similar (something that can easily happen in long-term relationships), that early can’t-keep-your-hands-off-each-other attraction can fade, creating a relationship that is more roommates or best friends than passionate lovers.
We’ll explore some key energetic polarities in romantic relationships, and how you can play with them to amp up your sizzle factor.
2 . Internal Peace: Resolve Internal Conflicts and Stuckness
“Stuckness” is often due to internal conflict between two polarities.
This can limit a person’s full expression and ability to freely choose from the full range of emotions.
For example: In a romantic relationship, it’s not uncommon that a person may have a hard time receiving pleasure. Subconsciously, there may be a preference for giving, and an aversion to receiving. Dismantling these internal associations and integrating the giving/receiving polarities allows the person full freedom to choose, rather than being ‘stuck’ on one side of the polarity spectrum.
Through this class, we’ll explore some of the common internal polarity conflicts that inhibit full sexual expression.
