Friday Five: Loud & Proud! 🌈

Why do we celebrate Pride Month, though? Pride Month is meant to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan which took place in June 1969, and that is regarded as β€œa tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.”

This month, we are honoring our LGBTQ+ community and all those who live outside of the norm. To be β€œQueer” is to have an identity that does not correspond to the current established ideas of sexuality, gender, and heteronormativity.

While being queer can still be challenging in today's societies, we are here to celebrate the ways queer people inspire us to share our uniqueness; we are here to celebrate love, acceptance, and the freedom to be true to ourselves.

This month we are featuring 5 queer artists, activists and authors you should know!
